Can we make an offer?
All our items are available to make an offer. If you are interested in making an offer for a particular item please contact us with your disclosed offer and we will try our best to meet at an agreeable price.
Do you offer Laybuy payment options?
We offer fully flexible payment options for clients looking to spread the cost of an item over a certain timeframe. We ask for an initial deposit to reserve the item and then agree a timeframe for instalments to be paid up to the purchase price of the item before the item can be shipped. Please contact us with your details and the item details and we will get back to you. We also offer independant delayed payment options such as Klarna and Afterpay. All these options are available at time of purchase directly from the checkout page when you are ready to purchase.
What is the difference between vintage and antique?
Any item is considered to be antique if it is over 100 years old. However this is a general rule of thumb as many items are called antique when they become 50 years of age. Items are generally called vintage when they are between 10-50 years of age.
Do you buy antiques?
We are always looking for new stock and are happy to provide a free valuation. This can be provided via an email with attached images to info@antiqueshop.co.nz where we will do our best to reply to you within 24-48 hours. All the items on our website represent things we are interested in, however we are always open to any new business.
Do you provide a restoration service?
At the Antique Shop we do provide an in house restoration service for some items. We can get busy with this and sometimes we may not be able to provide this service, or sometimes the restoration is quite detailed and we don’t have the correct tools for this, however if this is the case we will be more than happy to point you in the direction of other restoration specialists. Are you on social media?
Yes, we feature on Instagram and Facebook please click either link and like the page! We are constantly working on our Social Media presence and our online presence and are currently looking at new avenues such as Pinterest and Etsy, along with TikTok and X. We also run NZ Antiques and NZ Stamps on Facebook – check them out!
Can we visit your store?
Currently we searching for a new shop location as our previous one was sold on us unfortunately. However we do allow appointments where you can view our items and/or a specific item you are interested in. And all our items are still available online to purchase with a 30 day return policy. View our return policy located in the footer of every page.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major Debit cards and cash upon collection. For processing online payments we use the payment system Stripe along with Paypal, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Stripe is a well known online payment processing system that independently takes your order and we receive no payment information ourselves. Apple Pay and Google Pay are similar online processing systems. We do not accept payment over the phone due to fraudulent behaviours. We also offer delayed payment options which you can view under a separate question on this page.
Do you ship outside of New Zealand?
Yes we offer a complete package and delivery service all over the world. We ensure all our items are well packaged, fully insured and tracked throughout their entire journey ensuring they arrive safely at their new home.
What is your return process?
If for any reason there is a problem with your purchase, we will be happy for you to return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We do ask you contact us first so we can ascertain the issue. We take pride in dealing with our customers so rest assured we will come up with a solution/quick decision. Shipping costs are chargeable to the customer and not The Antique Shop.
Can I join your newsletter?
Absolutely we welcome all to join the Antique Shop family! To keep up to date with all things the Antique Shop is doing, including new stock and what we have been up to, please visit our contact page on our website and sign up.
I cant find a particular item can you find it for me?
We regularly get asked if we can source a particular item and would be happy to do so for any client. Please fill out a form on the contact page, and we will reply in due course.

We have been dealing with clients for 30 years selling Antiques - initially as a hobby but now as a business, we understand through this journey that service is key.

We only buy the best condition antiques, but we can also restore and repair antiques before selling them and we thoroughly check item is sold as described.

We want our clients to be happy - as we are an antiques business this is key as they often come back, this is a result we hold as a top core value and an important one!
4. Safety
Its so important to a client to feel safe especially online and we pride ourselves in having a safe platform. We are updating our software and virus checkers daily to keep our site safe.
