Wooden Carving Māori Head Bust made out of New Zealand Kauri Wood with lovely dark patina. Est. Circa 1980s. Measures about 40 cm high. This skillfully hand carved wooden New Zealand Māori statue is in excellent condition, sturdy and strong. The features of the face showcase the skill of this artist and present a dramatic appeal with great lines. It is in excellent, like new condition with a shiny finish. Very nice piece of Māori original art.
History of New Zealand Kauri:
Kauri are among the world’s mightiest trees, growing to over 50 m tall, with trunk girths up to 16 m, and living for over 2,000 years.
